Socialite influencer Orhan Awatramani, better known as Orry, was among eight people booked for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district. An FIR was filed against the group on March 15 but they had crossed the border by then and remain untraceable till now. Amid this, an old video, from a commercial featuring Orry has resurfaced online.
As Orry and his friends remain at large, an old video of the 29-year-old socialite calling himself a ‘runner’ has resurfaced online. The video was a part of a commercial about MX Player and Amazon Prime Video’s partnership in January. The clip features Orry as a cricketer, playing on the pitch with Shikhar Dhawan.

The video opens with Dhawan asking Orry to take a run, when the socialite replies, “Chill Shikhu, I run, I am a runner”. This was an ode to his own popular reference when he replied, “I am a liver” when asked what he does for a living. The video ends with Shikhar Dhawan breaking Orry’s phone to which the influencer replies, “Break hearts not phones”.
Orry and his organiser Cherry Sin have been untraceable ever since the Jammu and Kashmir police filed an FIR against them. As per PTI, “Sensing the gravity of the matter, instructions were issued by Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Paramvir Singh to nab the miscreants and set an example of zero tolerance of any such act at a religious place which can hurt the sentiments of people,” however, the group had crossed the state border by then. It was also reported that the hotel authorities deliberately delayed reporting the activity to the police so that the group could get time to flee.
As a result, protests have been broken out in Katra and Jammu against Orry and the hotel management. Activists and political groups are demanding that the socialite influencer must be arrested with immediate effect.
