Emotional Ayan Mukerji Requests Paps To Not Click Pictures At Father Deb Mukherjee’s Prayer Meet: Yeh Personal Event Hai…



Ayan Mukerji’s father and veteran actor Deb Mukherjee passed away on March 14. He was 83 and died of age-related illness. A prayer meeting for the veteran actor was organised by the family today. On the solemn occasion, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani filmmaker addressed the paparazzi members stationed outside the venue and requested them to not barge in to click photos.

On March 18, Ayan Mukherji, along with his family, organised a prayer meeting for his late father. The event was attended by several members of the film fraternity prompting a high paparazzi presence at the venue. Addressing them, the filmmaker shared that they would not be able to allow them inside and requested them to maintain decorum.

When the paparazzi members insisted on being allowed inside Ayan rejected by saying, “Andar jagah nahi hai, humne shlokas laga rakhe hain, wahan shor hoga (There is no space outside. We also don’t want any noise as there are shlokas playing inside).” He also told them to understand that the day is not about another Bollywood gathering but a ‘private event’ for the family. He argued, “Yeh koi Durga puja ka event hai (This is not a public event).” However, Ayan and his team assured the photographers that they could click the celebrities when they were entering and exiting.

Several members of the film fraternity came to console the family members at the prayer meeting of Deb Mukherjee. Close friends of the filmmaker and actor Ranbir Kapoor were spotted arriving in his car. Actors like Vicky Kaushal, Anupam Kher, Arjun Bijlani and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali also arrived at the prayer meeting. 

Previously, celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukerji, Kajol and Alia Bhatt attended the funeral of Deb Mukherjee in Mumbai on March 14. Deb Mukherjee was part of the famous Mukherjee-Samarth family. He has been part of several films including Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Adhikar, Zindagi Zindagi, Baaton Baaton Mein, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander and Aasoo Bane Angaarey among others.
