185 million digital viewers: Women’s World Cup final smashes records; matches 2024 Men's T20 World Cup final

India’s triumph in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 has not only ended a long wait for global glory but also rewritten digital viewership history. The final, streamed on JioHotstar, drew a record 185 million viewers and matched the viewership of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 final in the process.As per official data, the tournament, which commenced on September 30, reached 446 million viewers in total, surpassing the combined digital audience of the previous three ICC Women’s World Cups.

While India’s first-ever World Cup win created history in itself, the numbers too marked a defining moment in women’s cricket, highlighting the sport’s increasing popularity and the growing strength of its fan base in India.The title clash, played on Sunday, saw peak concurrency touch 21 million as Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. became the first Asian side to lift the ICC Women’s World Cup trophy. India’s win over Australia sparked nationwide celebrations, capping off a campaign that had its fair share of highs and lows. From three consecutive losses in the league phase, to a historic semi-final win and a sensational final, India’s campaign was nothing short of spectacular. In another milestone, 92 million viewers watched the final on Connected TV (CTV). This figure that equaled the CTV viewership of both the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 finals. The data shows how digital and large-screen streaming have become central to sports viewing in India.
